My interview on the I’m Learning Mandarin Podcast: Maintaining your Mandarin skills while living outside China

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of speaking with Mischa Wilmers on his I’m Learning Mandarin podcast.

We dove into my journey of learning Chinese, discussing how I first got interested in the language and the different phases of my studies, both in Germany and during my time in China. We also talked about the unique challenges that come up after returning from an immersive environment like China and how to keep your skills sharp when you’re no longer surrounded by the language every day.

I’m especially grateful we could finally make this happen, as I unfortunately had to turn down Mischa’s first invitation. This time, though, we were able to record a short but focused episode that I hope you’ll enjoy. If you’re interested, check out the episode!
